Task Force 42 won a new 6 month contract to deliver infrastructure project consultancy services for existing client Elysium Healthcare. We have been consulted to architect an interim Azure virtualised solution for the upgrade and migration of a patient care management solution that is scheduled to go live in 2024.

This vital work will create a solid foundation for further modernisation of the system due to take place in 2027, design features of the solution include:

  • High Availability (HA) AlwaysOn Availability Groups running on Windows Server Failover Cluster with SQL Server
  • Layer 7 Azure based load balancing

This project will improve a service hosting data for over 100,000 users, we are excited to be working on such a challenging project with Elysium and their experienced in house IT teams, and partners.

Today the business starts work on a 2 month contract running out of hours for new client JoesTaverns Limited. The project is for Sunderland seaside venue The Promenade, scope for the project includes:

  • Internal Re-Wire and deployment of an 8 point Cat5e Gigabit network
  • Deployment of high specification Ubiquiti Unifi WAPs into the public areas of the venue
  • Ubiquiti Unifi Firewall/Router deployment
  • Deployment of VLANs and integration with existing CCTV network
  • Technical Documentation
  • Integration with existing POS network infrastructure

Follow up work will include removing any remaining PSTN lines from the venue to ensure all voice and data circuits are migrated onto the upgraded digital Internet connection in time for BTs PSTN/IDSN switch off in 2025

Task Force 42 was awarded a new 6 month contract to deliver infrastructure project consultancy services for existing client Elysium Healthcare. We will architect a new interim Azure virtualised platform to host a bespoke Income Processing payments tracking and integration platform to meet urgent vendor support requirements. The solution will use a mixture of legacy technologies hosted on more reliable Azure based Virtual Machines (VMs):

  • Microsoft Windows Server Remote Desktop Services (RDS) hosted on Azure VMs
  • Custom SOAP integrations
  • SQL Server on Azure VMs
  • Legacy Microsoft FoxPro client apps hosted on RDS

The new interim solution is scheduled to go live in 2024 and will be used as a launchpad for further migrating the system to a new and more modern SaaS solution planned for 2027

Out of hours work for an existing client this weekend included the following:

  • Diagnose and fix of new intermittent VoIP connectivity issues related to SIP/ALG routing
  • Configuration and deployment of a 4G backup Internet device for the existing network systems
  • On site diagnosis and recovery of an entertainment music platform after a failed solid state drive (SSD) in the host
